چکیده

This work aims to valorize an invasive brown macroalga (Sargassum spp. consisting of two species Sargassum fluitans and natans) by producing biochars (BCs) activated carbons (ACs). Its abundant frequent occurrence along the Caribbean coastlines, Florida, Gulf Mexico during last past nine years, have triggered human health concerns negatively impacted local economy, ecology environment. In this paper, BCs ACs were developed assess reduction chlordecone (CLD) environmental availability in artificial tropical contaminated soils. Such innovative approach was proposed limit CLD bio-availability fauna outdoor reared-animals. The prepared pyrolysis at 700 °C while samples chemical or physical activation. Textural characterization, has evidenced that bi-modal structures with micro- mesopores, various surface high pore volumes successfully obtained. Finally, tests resulted ability significantly sequestrate on soils a natural nitisol. particular, 3 h time, exhibited highest porosities properties best candidate efficiently soil samples.

Removal of Hexavalent Chromium Using Activated Carbons Derived from Marine Algae Gracilaria and Sargassum Sp

Industrial wastewater contain higher quantities of salts besides chromium (VI) ions, therefore, the effect of these salts on the adsorption of chromium (VI) should be studied. In this research, the batch removal of toxic hexavalent chromium ions from wastewater and aqueous solution using two different activated carbon marine algae Gracilaria (red algae) and Sargassum sp. (brown algae) were exam...

Preparation, characterization and phenol adsorption capacity of activated carbons from African beech wood sawdust

In the present study, different activated carbons were prepared from carbonized African beech wood sawdust by potassium hydroxide activation. The activated carbons were characterized by brunauer–emmett–teller, scanning electron microscope, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analyzer. The phenol adsorption capacity of the prepared carbons was evaluated. The d...

The marine algae Sargassum spp. (Sargassaceae) as feed for sheep in tropical and subtropical regions.

The objective of this study was to evaluate Sargassum meal as feed for sheep through the measures of in vivo digestibility, dry matter degradability, pH, ammonia and volatile fatty acids in rumen. The Sargassum algae used in this experiment were collected at the end of spring, when they are more abundant, bigger, and have completed their reproductive cycle. Four tons (wet weigth) were collected...
